Ways to save money on your wedding

There's a fine line between getting everything you want on your wedding day, and also making sure you have enough for them bills, cause yeah, they don't stop or don't get if you're tryna have a life :D
It's good to have peace of mind you still have a little extra saved up in case some unexpected venue fees are coming your way. There are ways you can make your dream wedding happen, but it requires lots of understanding, flexibility, and an open mind from both parties. (Unless you take that second job, just saying!) I wouldn't call it settling either, but more prioritizing, and being a logical person. Being humble about it is key, and if you have friends you can talk to and ask for a favor, it would help you save lots of money!

  1. Ask your friends for help! (If you know a friend who is a photographer, a pastor, etc, go for it! Unless you have the extra money to go for a fancier vendor.
  2. Flowers as centerpieces are unnecessary! (And pricey) Go for a cheaper option like string lights, candles, faux greenery. (Also depends on your wedding theme)
  3. DIY what you can, and what you cannot because of price, or because you want better quality, then budget for!
  4. Put save-the-dates and invitations in one envelope! Save money and check it off the list!
  5. Avoid “bridal” places and research online instead! From wedding veils to bridesmaid gifts, some bridal shops can be a little outrageous with these items, so make sure you research your options.
  6. Utilize your wedding website for RSVP’s
  7. Don’t get too caught up in the wedding day, revisit your priorities! Remember there’s a honeymoon, and a whole marriage after that!
  8. Do you really need expensive jewelry or under-the dress essentials?
  9. Wedding planners: Do you really need a person to be reminding you of what you already know?To me, that is a little stressful, especially since you already have to meet with your other vendors. With all these online tools we have nowadays, you can totally nail down what to do each month. I personally recommend a coordinator that you trust (a good, organized friend) who communicates between the venue specialist, the DJ, and those who are in charge of decorating the reception. This person can take over the last month before the wedding day for last minute details.
  10. Last but not least, rent the suits instead of buying! It saves a lot of money, and you still get the look he wants.

Make a list of things you don't mind spending the most money on, and anything extra, put towards the wedding and also on your most valuable things.

Don't forget to go out on dates with your sweetie :)
