Redefining your circles, and why it's important!
What's up people!!
Recently I was talking to one of my mentors about marriage and children, and how everything is prone to change if you don't have your priorities defined.
I was reminded of this circle my pastor taught us a long time ago when I was a teenager.
People might disagree with the outer circle, and that is totally fine. The 2 inner circles are uncompromisable, and here is why.
One helps the other, they cannot be mixed or swapped. Your inner circles help you balance the rest of your circles, but the inner, inner circle (God, you and your spouse) are the most sacred, most important circle you should prioritize. This doesn't mean the other circles are going to be neglected, or taken for granted. Children are a priority too, but not the MOST important thing. And of course, God should be your focus before your spouse, but people mistake this as well and would literally forget their spouses and "spend" time with God more, or the other way around. It's a tricky one that I'm still trying to figure out, and according to the Bible, God wants us to care about our spouses A LOT! And you need to do both :)
I'm gonna do a part 2 of this blog, but just keep these circles in mind. Ask God to give you the wisdom to prioritize, and learn how to balance each area of your life.
Peace,
-KC
