Inner peace
Hey peeps!
So... life passes by, and sometimes you need to sit back and think if you are just kinda "surviving,"
and not living your life to your fullest potential. I have always made sure I am constantly changing, pursuing my dreams, and becoming friends with time. It sounds silly, but it has been working for me.
You can't really just work to pay bills, if you are currently doing this please stop. Enjoy going out, find your friends, take your buddy or partner on a date!
As much as you should feel proud of your accomplishments and all, you should also get rid of the mentality of taking credit for everything, or the mentality of "I deserve this or that."
Everything is by grace; however, most things in life are DECISIONS! And the product of those decisions is in your hands. To live a good life, it doesn't automatically happen overnight. "One thing" can't really fix EVERY area, well I mean Jesus can, but it is also lots of effort, willingness to change, humbleness, patience, working hard, balancing things out, etc!
I have created 3 essentials that I've found extremely important for my well-being, and things that allow me to grow each day, and reach my potential with my different roles as a follower of Christ, as a soon to be wife, as a mentor to my students, as an older sister, as a friend, and a few other roles I have:
1. Body, soul and mind: I started to workout, sleep 7-8 hours every night, and back to leisure reading!
I started taking Yoga this summer, and I fell in love with the concept of relaxation. After my yoga classes were over, I went straight into indoor cycling. A little more intense, but it relaxes me as well. I feel happy, and back to my stable weight (also cause I'm out of school and aren't eating junk food daily). Sleeping the hours I need has been tough. I'm a night owl, it ain't a secret, but lately I have been better st this then before. Also cause you get older, and going out is such a dread sometimes! And lastly, I had stopped leisure reading, and once again I blame it on school (school ruins lives, like my one good friend used to say back in hs). I had so much boring, dull reading to do that I literally didn't have time to dig into my awesome leisure books. Right now I'm reading 2 books, (one for personal growth, and the other one is fantasy). I truly feel renewed!
2. Reevaluated my relationships: Who needed to stay in my close circle, aka negative people are out of the pic!
This one can be tough, but some people sometimes just need to go! It can be close family members, best buds, or coworkers. It's either that or continuing to invest energy on things that don't take you (or them) anywhere. You also have to be realistic, and if you're the problem, then be open about your mistakes and seek help! But, if you have tried to keep those bonds, and drama keeps happening, then you know now what to do. As of today I can say I have my fiancé, my bridesmaids (which are super close friends), my best friend who will be my bridesman, my grandma, little brother, and a couple of coworkers. The list pretty much ends there.
3. Embrace what you have got: Look how far you've come!
It is quite therapeutic for me to journal. I love little "Then and Nows," I love envisioning myself in a few or several months from now. I am truly grateful for the evident blessings God has given me, but also those prayers that were answered in secret! Embrace your loved ones, your health, your job, your home. There are people out there who don't have these things! Be grateful!
4. Enjoy the moment without publishing it on social media: You can still take photos, but they don't have to be uploaded!
So I've been thinking about this a lot... there are a few things that I have been sharing with friends, fiancé, and other people that have not been posted. They are more like fun memories now, and I am truly grateful for that. I am thinking of how i'm gonna share my future wedding photos and stuff, haven't decided how much I'm gonna share, but one thing I know is that whatever decision you make, make sure it's for you and not for others!
I typically don't like long lists. I feel like this one isn't too bad to create on your own. Think of things that can help you find meaning each day, and always always remember that Jesus has you here to have a fantastic life. AND IT DOESN'T HAVE TO INVOLVE MONEY!
