The Duggar Girls: I love Counting On!
When I started watching the show, Derrick was proposing to Jill.
I fell in love with it, and not only that, but the way they met (In Nepal)
made me pursue missions. Because of that show, or more specifically,
that episode I started researching mission trips overseas and humanitarian work.
This was early in the spring of 2015. By the end of that summer, I was already on a plane to
Thailand on a mission trip. The motivation the show gave me was real, and the show itself isn’t even about that,
but God specifically used that show to speak to me on missions. (Not to mention I didn’t even watch TV when I found the show) It was definitely God ordained.
I absolutely enjoy the show, and I get super excited when a new season comes out.
Accepting the fact that the Duggar girls have definitely changed after getting married and moving out of the Duggar household is an understatement. I am honestly glad they are getting their own agency, even though through motherhood and being wives. It's too bad that they can't find it in some other way, but we're slowly getting there.

The Show Gave Me Great Ideas On Marriage, wedding planning & lifestyles
Watching this show gave me some kind of hope to believe in love, to embrace the
possibility of getting married in the future,
and it also helped me heal. It was quite therapeutic. I started watching it a year and a
half before meeting my now husband, and although I don't particularly practice
some of their beliefs on dating (they call it courting) I still think
their decisions are far more honorable than
any other dating way we have ever been taught, or seen, for instance, in other crazy series on TLC.

As far as which couple I like the best, it has changed throughout the seasons. I think the
best honeymoon was Jessa’s. The best
wedding was Jinger’s, I liked the “V” with roses they had in the background, as well as her
dress. The most beautiful ring has to
go to Lauren’s, dang! The best house goes to Jill’s, though you can’t really see it anymore
because the Dillards got kicked out of the show for what Derrick said on social media about
I am Jazz. I used to follow the Dillards a little more
because they’re missions minded. Since they’re not on
the show anymore, I’m kind of torn between the Seewalds and the Vuolos. The Seewalds’ kids
are so gorgeous.

I like the Vuolo’s for multiple reasons. First, I love how Jeremy is Italian. Great job girl! It just
brings more diversity to the family, they need that!

Second, they waited a whole year to have kids. That is actually UNHEARD and RARE
coming from the Duggars. Sometimes I wonder if it’s because
they kind of have to keep the show interesting, so that is why they decide to have kids so fast,
or just the pressure from the family. Now the awesome
stuff, SHE IS THE FIRST DUGGAR TO WEAR PANTS! She finally was set free from this
ideology that skirts are more “honorable,” and again, that was
all coming from her family’s side. On that note, Jill Dillard also got a nose piercing.
The Vuolos are also the first family to have a baby girl as their firstborn.
Everyone else has boys! They are also the first ones who purchased a home, whereas the other kids have been given their homes.

I think my least favorite couple is the Forsyths. They are just awkward LOL.
The Seewalds were my favorite even before they had kids. I loved the proposal at the glass chapel in Arkansas. And again, their honeymoon and little
home are super cute. I love how Ben drew and designed Jessa’s ring, their engagement pictures (taken by Jinger) are wonderful, as well as their wedding
pictures. They are just perfect! Not to mention she rocks her outfits all the time, even though she only wears skirts. She looks awesome all the time.

Now with their two boys, it’s just so cute to see how the oldest one looks a lot like her and the younger looks like neither of the parents.
So, who got kicked out of the show?
Let’s reminisce about how the show used to be.
17 Kids and Counting (2008–09)
18 Kids and Counting (2009), then it was called “19 Kids and Counting until 2014,” when I started watching it devotedly.

All these shows were from the parent’s perspective, their lives and how they literally raised 19 kids on their own.
Ruled by the parents, and you got a sense of how the older daughters were, but they couldn’t fully have their agency. Now don’t get me wrong, the parents
are great examples of marriage and commitment, but their rules are a tad bit ridiculous sometimes, reason why the girls married so young, didn’t really have time,
or motivation to pursue education since they were homeschooled, and having babies was the only purpose/emphasis taught.

When the girls started to get married, the show would be split between the Duggar home and the girls’ new home with their husbands. At first it was just Jill and
Derrick Dillard, and Ben and Jessa Seewald. The Dillards met in Nepal, while Derrick was a missionary there. Then they got married here in the States, and
moved to El Salvador to be missionaries. The Seewalds stayed local.

Chaos started happening in the Duggar family, when the oldest Duggar son, Josh was found guilty of sexual behavior around his sisters 15 years ago. Josh was
already married with 3 kids when these charges came to light. And if it wasn’t enough, he was also found at a few brothels paying for sexual services. He got kicked
out of the show, and we don’t know anything about him and his family. His wife was pregnant with their 4th child at the time. She was very sweet, and I felt very bad for her.
She was a great addition to the show. All we know is that he is at rehab trying to figure his life out and his relationship with God and his wife. She didn’t want to divorce him.

The show got cancelled, but TLC signed a contract with the older sisters, because fans didn’t want to miss out on their new lives. The weddings and honeymoons were the
most exciting events that were happening on the show, and fans were following up
closely for the past year or so. A few months later, Counting On was officially
released in 2015, focused on the older daughters, their lifestyles, and their babies. The parents aren’t allowed to be interviewed on the show anymore; however,
they do appear in certain episodes for the kids’ birthdays or weddings, but they talk or comment on something very briefly. The Dillards aren’t on it anymore, and Jana and
John Duggar, the older twins are on it off and on.

The Frustrating Piece
John might be appearing on the show more now that he is engaged “and
has a meaningful life” because if you don’t have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, there is literally
nothing
to talk about in the Duggar family. I’m not being sarcastic though. If pregnancies, weddings,
or engagements aren’t happening, then there is no episode for you. This is what
kind of frustrates me about the show, but I still watch it :)

Jana Duggar is almost 30 and is still a single gal, there are rumors that she might not like men,
but I don’t think it’s true. She is the most beautiful girl from all the 19 kids, and
I just don’t get how she is still single!

The second most beautiful is Jessa. And now Lauren Swanson, who married Josiah
Duggar just recently is also very pretty.

Predictions and hopes
I would love to see the Duggar girls going to school, traveling more,
picking up a new hobby, or learn another language! Connect with a broader audience, girls!
Not everyone is a mom or a wife. Can someone else follow Jinger’s path and
wait for at least a year to have kids?

My prediction is that Lauren Duggar might be having a kid soon, and it could be a girl!
Too many boys in the family already!

John might be getting married soon and having kids, and the chain continues! Who knows if
the ones that are already married with kids will have more kids? Jessa’s fam is perfect,
please don’t have more kids!

The Vuolo’s, I’m already very proud of you, so maybe you can have one more kid,
but keep it short and sweet! You all have shown originality, and a mind of your own.
You ain't easily provoked to do what most people do!
Predictions asserted since last time I edited this document! Jessa is indeed
having a third baby, Josiah and Lauren were expecting, unfortunately not anymore, and John
did get married!

The Duggar Girls’ Transition Into Normal Culture and other Unforeseen Changes
We have evidence from previous episodes back when 19 Kids And Counting was on, where the Duggar girls had admitted their “strong” beliefs about skirts over pants, and their overall courtship flow and traditions. Let us start with a few things we have noticed over the past five years, approximate period of time when all the Duggar girls started their courtships, marriages, and having children.
Jill and Derick Dillard were the first ones tying the knot, followed by Jessa and Ben Seewald. Jill got a nose piercing and started to wear jeans. Ben Seewald started to get into rap music. Jessa hasn’t done anything radical yet, just the fact that she did things differently for her wedding, such as the blush dress, and not kissing at the altar.
Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo are definitely the authentic ones. They are the first couple who waited a whole year to have a child, the first couple having a baby girl, the first couple buying a house and living in another state, away from both sets of in-laws. We can see that they have been trying to come up with their own rules and beliefs on how to raise their own family and pace it out. We spotted Jinger being the first Duggar wearing Jeans, (or it might’ve been Jill actually) and then wearing Jordans as well. Not to mention, Jeremy is the only man that isn’t blonde or blue-eyed.
The Forsyths are my least favorite couple, I just don’t see any passion. I am also not a huge fan of Kendra and Joe. My order of favorites from Counting On literally goes like this: The Seewalds, the Vuolos, and Josiah and Lauren Duggar. I would’ve added the Dillards last but they are not even on the show anymore. I love the Seewalds because their laid back relationship and seeing their cute boys grow. I love how the Vuolos are very independent of their parents, and not afraid to take risks, such as the dress code of their own daughter Felicity.
Josiah and Lauren Duggar are the first couple who had a miscarriage, and are now waiting for the perfect timing. My prayers and condolences to them, they are super sweet and loving to each other, and I'm sure God will bless them soon with a little one. They are both still super young, but I can totally understand the frustration because the family has been based on children, from both sides.
